Sounds like a paradox, right? Wrong! If you’re anything like us at kubxlab, you sometimes have difficulty slowing down and just relaxing, even on the weekend. We always say we’re going to sleep in and rest up, but usually something gets in the way. Someone wants to do brunch and mimosas, or there’s a must-see concert, etc., etc. But how about, just this once, you stay in and get really comfortable with just you? Here, we’ll show you how.
1) Order food for delivery, just for you.
This weekend, just ball out! Order yourself more food than you can eat, light some candles, and get busy on Chinese, pizza, or something of that ilk. You can eat it in your robe, so let yourself pig out. Then, maybe, take a nap.
You don’t really need a mantra or anything remarkably spiritual in your head at all, though these things help. Just focus on your breathing and nothing else. Breathe in and out deeply and slowly, sitting up or lying down, for around thirty minutes, free from thoughts. It’s a good feeling when you can get it.
3) Take a Bath
It can be of the bubble variety or not, depending on what you prefer. Get some soothing Epsom salts and light some candles again (really, candles are good for anything relaxing), put on some soothing music, or whale sounds, and sink into a good soak.
4) Enjoy a movie marathon.
Just stay in and watch movies, all day. When was the last time you did that? Hopefully, it will be a rainy day and you can stick to the couch from morning to night. It’s refreshing to turn it all off for a little while and let a movie do the thinking for you.
So, these are some good jumping off (or sitting down?) points from which to begin a relaxing weekend. You can fill in the rest of the blanks yourself; just try not to think too hard. Follow our prescription and on Monday you’ll be ready for anything!
